2018 with Dreamcore
2018 was a big year for us at Dreamcore. We’re happy and proud to have come this far, and just wanted to share some highlights of 2018 with all you fantastic people.
11 Lor 21A Geylang, #04-00
Early in 2018, we moved from our humble home office to occupying a space in Geylang. This was a big move for us and meant that we now have some overheads to take care of, but it also allowed us to take the next step in terms of our front and back end operations.
The building’s exterior could have been nicer, but we’re proud to have transformed our little space into a cosy showroom where you are most welcome to come check out the latest tech, learn more about custom PCs and just hang out.
Dreamcore x Anvil
Some time in March, we acquired Anvil, another local boutique custom PC company that focused on creating custom workstations. More hands on board means more kick ass Intercom conversations, and more love to share!
Fun fact: did you know that Wei Zhong was one of the key stakeholders at Anvil, and effectively formed the bridge between the two companies? Try to spot him in the video below!
Badabing, Dreamcore’s New Ambassador
Dreamcore has always been about empowering the end-user, and talented local streamers are no exception.
We signed Badabing as our ambassador in May – since then, her custom Dreamcore Alpha has allowed her to reach out to a larger audience, and continues to power her stream on Twitch.tv! We’re looking forward to engaging our user base more through Badabing in 2019!
Our Dreamcore Lineup
In June, we heavily refreshed our product stack; we introduced the Bullet – Singapore’s smallest custom PC, alongside the Ghost – our eSports centric value gaming PC that many of you have come to love.
Our refreshed Alpha and Alpha Pro line of gaming PCs were made possible thanks to our landmark collaboration with Corsair, allowing us to provide stunning components at incredible value.
Let’s not forget the Reverie – once a micro-ATX custom PC geared toward creative prosumers, it’s since taken on its new form as the Reverie WX, our workstation-class custom desktop fit for any media professional.
Computex 2018
Also in June, we visited Computex 2018 in Taipei, where we met a number of our tech superheroes, such as Linus, JayzTwoCents, Bitwit and Tan Min Liang. Talk about a star studded cast!
These inspirational pioneers in modern tech remind us that everyone starts somewhere (have you seen Linus’s first ever video review?), and that success requires hard work, determination and a certain appetite for risk.
The Dreamcore Family
Late in 2018, we hired the first members in our team of full-time staff. Each of these individuals possess a fiery passion, rock solid integrity and a customer-first attitude, all of which are integral to the Dreamcore spirit. These guys have now become an indispensable part of Dreamcore, and we can’t wait to see them grow with us.
Rome wasn’t built in a day, but we’re certainly getting there. 2019 has a ton of exciting development in store for us, and we really can’t wait to share them with you!
Much love,
The Dream Team.
